With our new Trek & Drive tours, we inaugurate a product line that combines some of the best ways to vacation in Chile!
Self-drive tours are without a doubt an extremely popular way to explore Chile, and rightly so. Travelling with a rental car allows for the exploration of the vast and remote natural landscapes of Chile at your own pace and a competitive price. At the same time, Chile´s landscapes of superlatives are a mecca for trekking, offering an infinite array of different trails.
Trek & Drive tours are made for outdoor and hiking enthusiasts who prefer to travel and hike on their own, with a rental car and lots of flexibility.
The Four Giants of Patagonia (24 Days / 23 Nights)
We have created the flagship tour of this series, The Four Giants of Patagonia, in order to do justice to the tremendous outdoor potential that Patagonia offers. It is for all the adventurers out there who want to feel Patagonia in its essence, with their own two feet! This tour takes clients along the spectacular castle-like mountains of Cerro Castillo, the Fitz Roy massif in Los Glaciares National Park, the Torres del Paine National Park and, most adventurous of all, the toothlike peaks of Navarino Island in the southernmost extension of the continent, the Dientes del Navarino.
This epic adventure starts with a self-drive from Balmaceda to Puerto Natales; after passing Cerro Castillo National Park, often considered to be the new Torres del Paine (but at the moment still a much less frequented insider tip), the route continues along General Carrera Lake to Argentina, with the option to visit the newly-founded Patagonia National Park. A longer stay is contemplated for Argentina´s hiking mecca El Chaltén, enabling easy access to Fitz Roy Mountain (amongst others). After passing by Perito Moreno Glacier and crossing back to Chile, the next highlight is Torres del Paine´s four-day W-Trek, before ending the tour with an adventurous multi-day tent camping trip around the Dientes mountain massif on Navarino Island south of Tierra del Fuego. It will cover a total of 24 days, or 18 if clients decide to skip the last part on Navarino Island and finish in Punta Arenas instead. Please contact us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org in order to receive the day-by-day itinerary.
2 New Trek & Drive programs: Puelo Valley and Pumalin & Yelcho
Another new trek & drive tour, still in its planning phase, will take clients deep into the Puelo Valley. Unlike the Four Giants Tour that covers Patagonia´s trekking highlights, this tour explores one of most remote and unknown valleys in the area of Puelo River, reachable on a combined drive-ferry-hike journey.
In addition, we are planning a remake of our Pumalin & Yelcho Trek tour, currently available only with private transfers. Stay tuned for detailed prices and itineraries in our soon-to-come 2020-2021 price list!
