In the extreme North of Chile, bordering to Bolivia we will find the Parinacota Volcano with and altitude of 6350 meters.

Right next to the National Park Lauca within the marvelous Altiplano with its unknown flora and fauna bordering the Chungará Lake this Volcano challenges even experienced mountaineers.


DAY 1: ARICA – CODPA VALLEY LODGE
Reception at Arica airport and transfer to Valle de Azapa to visit the famous local museum. Transfer to Codpa Valley Lodge (2000mts).


DAY 2: CODPA VALLEY LODGE  - PUTRE
We drive to Tignamar. Stop over for a 3 hrs trek at Quebrada escondida. We continue our transfer to Putre. Hotel.

DAY 3: PUTRE  - CHUNGARÁ LAKE – BASE CAMP
We cross the famous Lauca national park. Trek from Churiguaya to lake Chungará (5hrs) from where we can see mount Sajama (6520m). We camp on 4500m.


DAY 4: BASE CAMP – CAMP 1 – BASE CAMP
Charge transportation to camp 1 (5300m). Back to base camp.


DAY 5: BASE CAMP – CAMP 1

Climb to camp 1. We set our camp just at the inferior limit of the eternal glaciers (5300m).


DAY 6: CAMP 1 – PARINACOTA SUMMIT
Ascent of Parinacota (6342m). Back to camp 1, overnight (5300m).


DAY 7: CAMP 1 – BASE CAMP – ARICA
Walk back to the base camp (4500m) and long return to Arica. (Possible second summit attempt).


DAY 8: ARICA – AIRPORT

From your Hotel you will be transferred to the Airport.

  


Note: Clients need previous Mountaineering experience, know mountaineering techniques and have to be in excellent physical conditions. This expedition is very demanding.
